Currently in his fifth year with the Deer Creek family of golf courses, Cameron is now the Director of Instruction and is extremely excited to take on the challenge and responsibilities that go with the title.
Cameron has worked within the golf industry since 1989 in numerous and various capacities. He spent much of his youth at the Donalda Club where he enjoyed watching the golf professionals instructing the membership of the private facility. The golf professionals at the club were always generous with their time and helped Cameron refine and improve his own game to the point of being able to become a golf professional himself in 1997 at the age of 19.
Cameron worked at Donalda Club from 1989 to 1999 for both Bob Ure and Ken Tarling two highly successful and dedicated CPGA professionals. Both Mr. Ure and Mr. Tarling had a significant impact on how Cameron understood the game of golf and how to interact with students in the process of game improvement. It is Cameron’s belief that an instructor or coach must create a safe and engaging environment so people are relaxed and engrossed in the experience and thus able to open themselves up to the learning process.
In 1999 Cameron worked at Rosedale Golf Club under John Porter and once again learned a new mode of instruction and ways in which to communicate the key aspects of the golf swing. From 2001 to now Cameron has been a Teaching Professional and has worked with many CPGA professionals, at two instructional facilities, to further develop his craft as a Teaching Professional and Junior Development Coach.
Cameron has participated in many seminars and has done a significant amount of research about the game of golf, modes of learning, and the biomechanical functioning of the human body. He prides himself on continually improving and developing his skill set and communication style and truly enjoys working with students at all levels of the game. Cameron looks forward to helping you enhance your understanding of the game of golf and helping you reach your full golfing potential as well as increasing your enjoyment of the game.
